What is the student teacher ratio?
The students will be with 2 to 7 teachers at a time as they rotate through the schedule.
There is a 1/2 hour over lap as students are dropping off or getting picked up. The large doors in the center of the school close and while the one class is engaged with academics the other is getting ready to pick up. This school has been operating for over 55 years. We own the building which allows us lots of flexibility in offering more staff for lower tuition.
What type of disciplinary action do you take?
Our disciplinary policy is talking to children and sometimes changing their environment to change their behavior. We believe that encouraging children to do the right thing works a lot better than focusing on the negative. At these young ages, helping children see how good behavior is a positive works amazingly well. If there is an escalation of a situation we will notify the parents.
Are you affiliated with Headstart or ECAP?
We are not affiliated with Headstart, ECAP, or the Puyallup School District. We are a privately owned preschool.
Do you require immunization?
Policy requires we receive immunization documentation from each of our students when they first register at the beginning of the year.
Do you need parent volunteers?
Our program focuses on getting children ready for kindergarten and beyond. While we appreciate offers of assistance, but we generally do not take on parent volunteers. Cooperative programs are based upon parental involvement while we focus on independent student learning to prepare your child for kindergarten and beyond.
Do you accept DSHS?
Since we are a private school, we are not a licensed daycare facility so we cannot accept DSHS.
Are your services tax deductible?
We recommend you speak with a licensed tax professional but we will give you our EIN number for tax purposes during tax season.
